It turns out that ATI graphic chip gone faulty due to the long term overheating caused by blocked vents. That's why you are getting 800*600 resolution in safemode. I was just wondering, does this notebook use a different graphics card while booting in "safe mode" as aopposed to useing the Radeon graphics in normal boot up ? I also got the same problem and i still cant solve it! Try to find those that displayed while you were in Normal Mode- even briefly. When I startup my computer regularly, it gets to my desktop and within 30 seconds or so of completely booting up (random, sometimes not even that far) I get the blue

My system worked fine until today morning. Assuming your computer is unstable and crashing, it may be possible to run System Restore without crashing from Safe Mode. Restoring the system to a previous point when it was working also didn't help. I had a similar problem and was convinced my HD had bust (Got a blue screen error)! Any help would be greatly appreciated as in safe mode I can't download anything, use speakers or use the graphic card thing which makes everything smooth. Ever since the update my computer has been extremely slow (will take several minutes...
