Do you think it might be the power supply? A bios version prior to 1604 will cause issues with the 8350. The 1605 bios update you listed is for the M5A97 and not the M5A97 EVO you said that you had. Also check that the heatsink's fan is spinning; sometimes wires can get in the way and hold it in place.
