The fact that you could either not update or at least blacklist specific packages meant there was a way to circumvent the problem. I'm logged in as a local admin account since I can't log in with an AD account (else the hang). Loving this site now. Anyone know of a solution?

It broke my start menu, which I fixed, and broke windows apps, which are still broken. seems to working now so thanks! Perfect. GPU possible culprit - set to boot from onboard but now the screen won't even turn on!

There are several different motherboards in our machines so there are various instructions for doing this.
